Internal Research Opportunities

Researchers may apply through their departments for grants from the University Committee on Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences, or from other funds or programs in specific areas or departments. Information may be obtained from the department or from the Office of the Dean of the Faculty.

The University offers various fellowships to encourage early career scholars to pursue a career in academia, including the Presidential Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and Future Faculty in the Physical Sciences Fellowship.

Presidential Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

This program recognizes and supports outstanding scholars primed to make important contributions in their fields. By bringing together scholars across science, engineering, social science, and the humanities, the program allows them to deepen their disciplinary expertise while testing out new ideas from other disciplines. The program aims to appoint an average of twelve postdoctoral fellows per year, each holding a one-year appointment renewable for a second year. Nomination deadlines are late in the fall semester.

Future Faculty in the Physical Sciences Fellowship

The Future Faculty in the Physical Sciences (FFPS) Fellowship at Princeton University seeks to attract a diverse cohort of early career scientists who will conduct research in physics, broadly defined, including astrophysics, biophysics, geophysics, and planetary physics. Candidates who have demonstrated a strong commitment to broadening participation in physics, or the physical sciences more generally, through teaching, advising, mentoring, advocacy, or public outreach are especially encouraged to apply.
