Feb. 15, 2024 The Office of the Dean of the Faculty will host its inaugural University Faculty Service Reception at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9 at Lowrie House to recognize faculty members’ exceptional dedication and contributions to standing University committees. Each year, approximately 145 faculty members volunteer their time to serve on the University’s 18 faculty committees, which maintain operations critical to University governance and the stewardship of Princeton’s academic programs. “Our faculty contribute to Princeton’s academic mission not only through research and teaching but also through service, which enables the careers of faculty and academic professionals to advance, and the education and campus life of students to thrive,” said Dean of the Faculty Gene A. Jarrett. “The annual reception is a special occasion for us to celebrate the faculty who have reliably devoted their important time and effort to University committees.” Invitations were emailed to active members of faculty committees on February 15. For questions about the event or to inquire about committee service, please contact Julia Gilbert, assistant to the clerk of the faculty.
