Olga Peters Hasty, Clerk of the Faculty, prepares abstracts of the minutes for all Faculty Meetings and gives notification to the Faculty of special meetings and important matters proposed for action at any meeting. The Clerk also serves as Secretary of the Committee on Committees. Based on the recommendations of that Committee, she recruits faculty members to stand in elections for standing Faculty committees and creates the slates for these elections.
Olga is also a Professor of Slavic Languages and Literatures. She has a Ph.D. from Yale University and teaches courses on Russian poetry, drama, film, and Vladimir Nabokov and a freshman seminar that explores forgiveness. Her research interests lie in the areas of Russian poetry, women’s writing, time, translation, and transmediation.
Olga enjoys spending time with her husband, going on adventures with her daughter, reading, attending concerts and theatrical events, and striking out whenever possible beyond her own field of expertise and experience.
