Toni Turano is responsible for long-range planning and policies affecting the faculty and academic professionals. She oversees all policy and procedural aspects of faculty searches and appointments, reappointments and promotions, leaves and complaints. She also oversees the allocation and budgeting of academic resources for departments and programs.

Toni’s previous professional experience was in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University, where she served as assistant dean of academic affairs, Allston Burr Senior Tutor, and taught in the Department of History and the Program in History and Literature. She received her Master of Arts and doctorate in history from Harvard; her dissertation examined dissent from the national church and the ideological origins of religious toleration in 17th-century England.
