Tamara Thatcher, Assistant Dean, manages the search and appointment process of all lecturers and visiting faculty in the four academic divisions, manages the University’s faculty teaching and graduate student Assistant-in-Instruction budgets, and is responsible for the review of all faculty leave requests. In addition, she serves as the DOF point person for the Labor Accounting system and frequently prepares materials for teaching-focused committees and projects.
Prior to joining the Dean’s office in 2014, Tamara worked in the Department of Electrical Engineering, the Department of Psychology, and the Council of the Humanities. Her previous roles provided her broad experience with faculty and student matters, resource management, and academic planning. Before joining Princeton in 2003, she worked in corporate marketing and for a charitable foundation to support autism research.
Tamara is an avid fan of outdoor activities, including running, road cycling, and visiting farmer’s markets and seasonal festivals. When not at work or outside, she can be found spending time with friends, playing the piano, reading books, baking cakes, or spoiling her pets.
